How To Design A Creative Graduation Banner

Posted by: John Taylor on: May 4, 2009

How To Design A Creative Graduation Banner
One of the simplest ways to recognize a graduate is with a graduation banner displayed on graduation day at a ceremony or party. And, while well disigned banners are reflective of the time and effort put into the recognition, you may be looking for a more polished and professional look. After the celebration, graduation banners are the perfect addition to a class time capsule or a class charity auction, or a graduate-s box of memorabilia. Other banners and signs perfect for students are college banners, college flags and banners, Greek banners, and any cool banners or cute banners that would be appreciated in a dorm room.
This article give you few advise to create a graduation banner that will help you recognize the achievement realized by the special grad in your life.

Effective color combinations

Color schemes are as important to an effective banner as the message itself. Color combinations between the foreground. Good contrast makes the lettering and graphics stand out ensuring that your banner will grab the attention of the reader. Regardless of the color scheme you choose ensure that the contrast is drastic enough to ensure that your banner stands out to the viewer in a format that can be easily read.
Banners margins and white space
Margin widths are usually the most abused spaces on a banner. A general rule of thumb is to have the top and bottom margin be 10% of the height, and right and left margins be at least as wide as one of the banner’s main font character width. Avoid filling the empty spaces of the banner with graphics. White space helps keep the viewer’s eyes concentrated on the text.
Graphics
School Logos, photographs and other images can effectively be used to reflect your spirit, but should not overpower the intended message. To enhance your thoughts and ideas for designing an effective ad banner, we suggest you to look at professional sign company graduation banner template. www.signazon.com has lot of professional designed templates. Notice the ones that stand our effectively conveying their intended message.
Font s

Avoid using more than two type styles. The more font the more difficult for people to read. Use Fonts like Helvetica, Futura and Ariel are more widely used because of their clarity at a distance. Fonts such as these should be used for the main premise of the banner. Secondary messages could incorporate a font similar to Goudy, Benguiat or Times giving your banner enough contrast in fonts to be interesting, yet at the same time be clear enough to be easily read. Refrain from using fonts such as Old English style text, script fonts or Engraved fonts if your intended audience could be at a distance. You could consider more complex fonts such as the later, if your audience is at a short distance such as a trade show or booth environment, but we suggest to not use harder to read fonts so that you can achieve success with both demographics.
A misconception of Graduation banner design is to use upper case fonts to grab attention. At times upper case lettering can be used for one word or a line of text for emphasis, but is should be stated that it takes the human eye longer to read and process upper case writing opposed to lower case.

Marketing Tips for Rear Window Graphics

Posted by: John Taylor on: March 23, 2009

Rear Window Graphics from Signazon.com. Signazon offers custom rear window graphics for business advertising, truck decoration and car marketing for all vehicles including Nissan, Toyota, Ford F150, Dodge, Chevy, GMC trucks. Rear window decals give you the room and visibility to make an impact with whatever advertisement, sentiment or graphic that you want to display.

There are at least 3 reasons that Car-Wash Safe Rear Window Graphics are so popular: Provide Prime Advertising Space, Reduce UV rays, Offering Similar Benefits as Tinting and Protect Privacy.

When designing custom rear window advertising, think about the message that you are trying to impart and the best way to communicate that point. For business ads, readability is the most important thing.

1) Size – With personalized business window graphics for trucks, the size and accessibility of text are the key factors. Car rear window decals should take up the entire car rear window for maximum impact. Lettering on truck window graphics should be at least 3” which will ensure that prospective clients can distinguish the message on your truck window decal for up to 100 feet.

2) Color Combination – Make sure that car window advertising is designed with customer perception in mind. Take into account, not only what the colors of the truck rear window advertising say about your company, but how they interact with each other. Dark colors on dark backgrounds of customized truck window decals will be difficult to differentiate from one another. Light lettering on dark truck back window decals or dark lettering on light car window graphics are the best way to grab the attention of your viewers.

3) Images – See through window graphics allow you to use a solid image on the back of your vehicle and still see out the truck rear window. Choosing a back window graphic that sums up your trade or specialty will help your auto window advertising to be affective.

Vehicle window graphics aren’t just for businesses and tradesmen; auto window graphics can display any type of message or picture that you feel strongly about. Many people choose to exhibit their personal beliefs, favorite landscapes, and important causes on their auto window decals. Backscape decals can set you apart from the crowd, showing off your distinct personality and view of the world.

When you use a Truck Backscape Decal or Pickup Glasscape, One-way vision films work expertly as rear window advertisements because you can see out the back window of your car, but potential clients behind you only see the graphic design.

Signazon.com’s Big Check Helps MIT Participate in the Great American Smokeout

Thursday, November 20 – At high noon today, two student teams at MIT in Boston will face off to become the winner of the “Kick Butt” contest, an innovative competition that goes along with the 33rd Great American Smokeout. All around the country today, smokers and nonsmokers alike are participating in this “Great American Health Challenge” designed to inspire smokers to kick the habit. The Great American Smokeout, created by the American Cancer Society, started in 1976 and encourages smokers to quit for one day.
The two teams at MIT will compete to create an overly complex mechanical device that extinguishes a cigarette in an extremely roundabout manner. The winner will receive a cash prize of $750, presented to them on a big check donated by Signazon.com, the national leader in oversized check production. Kelly Cooper, who heads up Internet Sales at Signazon.com, says that the online sign design and production company is “more than happy to participate in such a long standing American tradition.”
“The Great American Smokeout does so much good and has been helping people quit smoking for 33 years now. Signazon.com is proud to not only participate in the national event, but, specifically, we’re really happy that MIT asked up to sponsor part of their “Kick Butt” Contest. It is an exceptionally creative and innovative way to make a difference, and that’s exactly what we try to do here at our own company.”
During the event, staff members from MIT Medical’s Center for Health Promotion and Wellness will be handing out free “quit kits” and information about MIT Medical’s quit-smoking services, available for free to any member of the Institute community to help stub out even the most stubborn smoking habits. The “Kick Butt” contest winner will be named later today and presented with their large check in the E23/E25 atrium on MIT’S Boston campus.

Signazon.com Brings Lakefront School Safety to the Forefront.

Posted by: John Taylor on: November 17, 2008

Friday, November 14 – Following a minor car accident on last Monday at Lakefront Preparatory in Brookline, MS, Richard Howard, a Student Driving teacher at the private school, decided to propose a new Safety Program to the school board. Last Friday, the program was passed. What set Howard’s proposal apart from other earlier programs were the alternative safety methods that he found online.
When Mr. Howard, a History teacher, started teaching the Student Driving Program at Lakefront Preparatory School, he had a few concerns. The small, private school is home to about 350 students, from ages four to eighteen. Because Lakefront isn’t a public school, it doesn’t have a school zone, yellow school busses, or Driver’s Education Vehicles with mounted flashing lights on the roof as most scholastic institutions do. Following the car accident that took place on school grounds this Monday, Howard decided that he would have to find some alternative methods for alerting drivers on and off school grounds to be more aware of the students’ safety.
When Howard found Signazon.com online, he was immediately pleased with some of the unconventional options that were offered for safety door magnets and warning yard signs. In particular, he found several versions of Driver’s Education Vehicle Magnetic Signs, Safety Car Door Magnets, and other Warning and Caution Magnetic Signs for Cars. Howard stated that, before he found Signazon.com, he had “had some difficulty finding Custom Vehicle Magnets that he could personalize” to fit the specifics of Lakefront.
“What I liked the most about [Signazon.com] was that every Magnetic Sign and Car Door Magnet was completely customizable. I teach at a school that doesn’t have the same hours, activities, or vehicles that most schools do, and every general student safety design isn’t going to apply to us. Signazon had these great, free templates that I could alter to make sure that the auto magnets worked for my specifications.”
Signazon.com specializes in Custom Car Magnets and their online design service is “geared toward customers who have certain needs that can’t be met with pre-printed signage,” says Kelly Cooper, Head of Internet Marketing for the company. “Our goal here at Signazon.com is to create professionally designed templates that are free and easy to customize. Every customer should be able to have exactly what they want; it is our job to meet their needs, not the other way around.”
Howard, for one, is certainly happy about his new signs that arrived on Wednesday morning. In fact, after receiving the personalized car magnets for their Driver’s Educational Vehicles and school vans, he decided to order some “cheap yard signs and banners for other purposes. I’m planning to use the yard signs to serve as a school zone-type message. Honestly, I already feel better; I know that the students are safer, and that just makes for a better learning environment.”

Signazon.com Creates Big Check for AIG Bailout

Posted by: John Taylor on: November 1, 2008

September 17, 2008 – When the U.S. Government announced their AIG bailout plan on September 16th, AIG was in the same position that many companies are put in over the years – finding an oversized check at a moment’s notice.  And, not just any check – a check that would represent an 85 billion dollar loan from the American people.  AIG quickly found Signazon.com, the same online oversized check provider that most companies use when a high-quality big check is needed for an event where there will be many photos taken and a lot of press surrounding the occasion.  AIG chose a patriotic template, a common background choice for large check events involving the government or any sort of federal financing.
Kelly Cooper, Head of Internet Marketing at Signazon.com, said that the patriotic template was a perfect choice for the oversized check.  “Right now, AIG is trying to show their appreciation for what the government and the country is doing to support them.  It makes sense that they would choose a theme of patriotism to express how grateful they are for the bailout.”
Big checks are familiar to a lot of people – they are seen on game shows, telethons, and, most commonly, in press photos for large benefits, scholarship ceremonies at universities, and charity functions.  Still, when it comes to finding one of these large checks, many people have no idea where to go.
AIG found Signazon.com because they are the national leader in oversized check production, and they needed something very professional for the occasion.  But, you don’t have to be a giant corporation to have one of these big checks made.  Cooper states:  “We fulfill orders on oversized checks for all sorts of occasions – birthday big checks, college tuition oversized checks, funny large checks.  Customers will purchase a big check for a lot of different things.”
Although there is a large assortment of big checks to choose from at Signazon.com, and you can even create your own with their online designer, Cooper says that the “American Flag Check is one of our biggest sellers.  With the American flag flowing in the background and the bald eagle in the forefront, it just speaks to people who love their country.”  And it spoke to representatives at AIG, as well.  They found the perfect oversized check for their purposes – serious, staid, respectful, and patriotic.

I am obsessed with personal-management systems. Name a routine that promises to help its adherents work smarter or lose a few pounds, and chances are I've tried it at least once -- especially if it involves technology. (My latest scheme: taking pictures with my cell-phone camera of everything I eat, so I'll be less likely to snack.)

When Christine Saunders saw her Southern California floral design company's revenue dip last fall as the economy sputtered, she realized that creating products for do-it-yourself brides might spur sales. But the owner of The Spiraled Stem Floral Design didn't want to carry the expense and burden of treading into this unfamiliar market alone.
